When I use a full bleed image and have page numbering on, the numerals become invisible if that part of the image is dark. At some point the numerals should be inverted; no colors, just black or white so that the page numbering is visible.
As an aside, I now always use page numbering, since most people comment on the high quality and thickness of the pages, and are frequently fooled into thinking they have skipped a page. Please don't take this as a hint to decrease the paper quality or thickness, just adjust either the color or the size of the page numbers, or both.
