I received my 100-page Bridal Album yesterday and several pages were printed with poor color reproduction. The most nagging problem is that the mens' black tuxedos look like plaid, with touches of dark gray running through them instead of the solid black. The preview pages in Bookmaker 2.2 don't show the faded black color, only the deeper black.

Also, when I lightened up a beach shot that was in shadow, the printed shot was very discolored and mottled. I would never accept a print in this condition. I wonder where the Quality Control is for album shots like this?

MY PUBLISHER moderator: please give me some direction. My bride is looking to take possession of the album. Can I have it re-examined online to determine if it was a printing errror or my error in accepting the preview state of the photos in question? They all looked acceptable on my Dell XPS-400 system, which is less than 2 years old. - PLEASE HELP.

Hi FPJC03 -

I looked at the book file and I also looked at your previous book files. There is definitely something off with these images. Were those tuxedos incredibly shiny? I can see that they have lines on them, as part of the design. When I zoom in and look at the images on screen, (look at them betwen 200-400% zoomed in), I see the plaid/poor black. It is a problem with the image I believe. Maybe the flash didn't work well with those shiny tuxes? I don't see this issue in any of your other books. All the blacks look perfect. Look at the images on page #3 for example. They don't look right, even on my screen.

What you see is what you get in PREVIEW mode of our software. Unfortunately preview mode can only view the images so large. If you keep zooming in in MAKE BOOK on an image you can also see the issue.

I wish I had some better advise for you. I understand that this is incredibly frustrating.

I can email you off line and you can send me the raw images from page #3 and I can look at those as well as a comparison.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher
