Hi everyone. I'm new to MP - got pointed to it from a friend who just did a few books for the holidays.
I want to do a travel journal as we recently returned from Africa. How many pictures can one expect to use for a 20-25 page book? I think I'm leaning towards the classic hardcover. I shot approx. 5000 pictures, so finding enough shouldn't be a problem. My issue may come with editing them out.
Any help you can give is greatly appreciated! =)

With 5,000 pictures, you will want to make a larger book...100 pages at least. Plan on 1 to 4 pictures per page max in a Classic book. If you want to just try MyPublisher with a 20 to 25 page book, the same 1 to 4 pictures per page would work. I wouldn't put more on a page unless I was making a Deluxe. You lose too much detail if you try to get too many pictures on the same page. And, your Africa pictures may look best in full page layouts. Some people put more on a page but for a quality look to your book, go with 1 to 4 and you will be happy.

Thanks! I will be paring down from 5000. I don't need 300 pictures of a lioness eating. One or two will do. A leopard pic or two, I don't need them all.
Any other suggestions are welcome!
Thanks =)

I agree, you will need the full 100 pages. It will take time and be soooo worth it. I had over 3000 pictures from my recent trip to Alaska and easily used over 300. I figured 10% was a good number. Take your time and enjoy the project.

FYI~

We just did a 100-page Classic-sized book, with the Collage template. Filled it with just over 250 pictures. Several were full page pictures....but then again, they WERE pictures of our beautiful granddaughters.

I don't envy you the task of choosing from 5000 pictures, but it sounds like you have the makings of a terrific book. Hope you post it once it's done.

Good luck.......you'll enjoy the finished product.
