Unable to Edit Font Type/Size/Font Options

Hello,

I am creating my first book in BookMaker 2.2 (from MyPublisher) However, when I edit the font, the small editing window which pops up is blank, it is not click-able, it does not show the Font selection dropdown box, no font sizes - nothing. The tiny window which pops up when I am editing the font is completely blank and I cannot even click on it, it deselects automatically to main window.

Looks like a glitch I really need to resolve. Could it be my computer?
I am on Win XP Pro

Maybe there is another version of the program available I may be able to try?

Hi Alex -

Can you try closing and reopening BookMaker? Is your computer hooked up to a docking station? What screen resolution are you using. Usually that problem is cause by one of the issues I mentioned in my questions..You can also try resizing the window, closing BookMaker and reopening it again.

My wife had the same problem this morning. I followed the suggestions (restarted the application, rebooted,etc.). Doing those things didn't solve the problem

I solved the problem. Before I explain how, I should caution you to NOT follow these steps unless you really know what you're doing, because it involves editing the registry and making the wrong changes can totally mess up your computer (like, you need to reload it in some cases). If you have any doubt, find that geek friend of yours (I'm that guy for my friends and family) to do this.

1. Shut down BookMaker.
2. Back up the registry.
3. Edit the registry.
4. Navigate to My Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BookMaker.
5. Delete the registry entries for mainHeight, mainLeft, mainMaximized, mainTop, and mainWidth.

Again, this is what I did. I'm not sure if deleting all those entries is required or if something else magically (and coincidentally) solved the problem. Good luck.

Hi Jimkcx - I also find that resizing the widow, shrinking it, minimizing, maximizing a couple of different times, then restarting Bookmaker also works.
