I have finished creating my book, but when I go to purchase it, I get a pop up stating that it is required for me to install an update. The computer goes through the update and then asks for my user name and password- which I do not remember setting up a user name and password through bookmaker. Because I do not have this user name and password- I cannot continue to purchase my book. (FYI- I have never purchased a MP album before)
Can anyone help?
Thanks
Jennifer

Are you on a MAC?
It sounds like there is some weird security setting on your computer. Are you on OS 10.4 or higher? When you click Purchase, your browser should launch. That takes you to a page where you log in or create an account...do you see this page?

I am on a MAC and am using OS 10.4 (I bought the computer less than 4 months ago).
It does not lauch to a browser or take me to any other page because it states that I have to install a BookMaker update of version 2.1 first before I can 'purchase' the book. (the update says it is from version 2.1.155 to version 2.1.156 or numbers similar to that where only the very last number is different).
The computer starts to install the update and then before it 'completes' its asks me for a password. I put the correct password from my MAC computer (I know it is the right one because I changed it last night to make sure)- and it all closes out, like I never installed the update. Then I have to go through it all over again- like a cycle.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Hi Jgriffin -
You are not on the latest version of BookMaker Mac. It should be on 2.1.599. If the update doesn't work, try downloading from our website. That will also overwrite what you have today. I don't know why it is asking you for a username/password. That is something specific to your computer, it's not being triggered by BookMaker.

A shot in the dark, but it is worthwhile checking: does the "user" you are logging in as when you enter your password have local admin rights? If you've successfully installed other apps, then it does.
Like I said, though, it's worth spending the 30 seconds to check it out and, if nothing else, eliminate that possibility as the culprit.
