I would like to see the ability to create your own templates including background colors, text, graphics and photo locations/sizes/rotations. This is GREAT software and I would buy a lot more books if I was able to be more creative. Thanks for considering.
Yes - why can't you do click/drag type boxes and size and locate pictures where you want them, including overlapping photos etc. Hate having to choose from a small number of pre-formatted pages!
Here is a suggestion. Design the page in a design program like Photoshop and up load it as a single image to a single picture page. It is a way around the programs limitations.

It would be so much better to have do-it-yourself layouts. I just created my first book, and kept thinking this would look so much better over here, or tilted a little, or overlapped. I think a lot more books would be ordered with more freedom to be original. Also more fonts-the few offered don't add much to the looks of the pages.

Yes, but how do you do a template in Photoshop. My daughter is gone for 2 weeks and I have a short amount to time to create a large book before she leaves for college. I want to surprise her so I need to finish this while she's gone. I could really use a 5 page layout or a 6 with more options. Does anyone have one already created that they can share? I'm clueless.

Hello -
I'm not sure if you've seen the templates or not, but in the Just Photos and Bestseller book styles (bestseller has the most templates) there is a 6 photo option, a 9 photo, and a 12 photo layout.

Thank you for the reply. I have been working with the 6 and 9 options. My book is approaching 100 pages, the max, now. 9 makes things way too small and there's only one template for 6 so if you have a horizontal image, it doesn't work out well.

In the current template, there's very little room to be creative... but I must say, software works really well and is easy to use

Thank you! We are working to expand the flexibility and number of templates to choose from.

This is a WEAKNESS in the current software - currently we spend too much time trying to fit our photos to their fixed layouts. Making our own layouts should be the No. 1 feature of the next release.
cheers

The problem with the Best Seller is that the pictures are all linear. Would love more templates like travel but without the "travel" background.

How soon are these new templates coming? I am in the process of working on maing 4 different books from our summer vacation and I totally agree I would love to have more options or templates or at least do it yourself templates.
If this improvement is coming soon, I want to hold off on making my books!!!
Please advise =)

I would really like to see the ability to change backgrounds and have more page layouts that tilt photos (like in the travel book style).
