I see this has been asked several times recently but I don't really understand what the answer is. This will be my first mypublisher book (and first of any book). I am designing the pages in PS so I think I understand that i should design and enter them into the mypublisher software as a full page? If so, am I right that the page (image) size should be 11.3x8.5 and/or 2040 pixels x 1530 pixels? Does that allow for trimming (assuming I keep any text or images .25 away from the edges of that size layout?
Then, what about file size? Will the above pixel size result in my images being the correct mb for quality printing?
Thanks,
Lauren

Hi Lauren -
I'm not a photoshop expert...to be completely honest :) but I have found that files that end up about 2MB each look best in our books when printed. The classic hardcover book PAGE size is 8.5x11. I'd allow an extra 1-2mm on each size to account for bleed. The binding can take up as much as .25-.5 of the inside of the book.
I hope this helps!
Sincerely,
MyPublisher

Thanks MyPublisher! One note, though, is that I would allow a bit more than 1-2 mm for the bleed. The cutter can vary a little bit page to page when it's cropping the sheet and it's possible that, at less than 2mm, there may be some white border from the press sheet. The traditional bleed amount for presses is 1/8"
1/8" = 0.125"
1/8" = 3.18mm [I would stay at 3 mm]
1/8" = 9 points

Thanks Rob and my pub, I will start designing and see how I do. I'm a bit overwhelmed so have put it off - plus I didn't know you had replied - I thought setting an alert would cause me to get an email notification but guess not.
