Error: Failed to parse the book DIME package.

I exported a file to a travel drive. I am now trying to import to my laptop. Upon importing, I get the following message: Failed to parse the book DIME package. Is there a way to import my file? Thanks! Francie

Hi Francie!

Just wanted to let you know I had the same problem with this company and DIME program 2 years ago. I had put together a wonderful album for our parents at Christmas time and when I tried to export my 25+ page book and then import it back to place the order...I could never get it open again? I tried contacting the company about my problem, stating that I just wanted to open the album I worked very hard on and order it for gifts...and they never replied back...I finally gave up!? I strongly recommend looking into a different company to make a photo book with. It's not worth the stress...there are many more great companies out there that are easier to work with and make great books! I'm looking into trying again...but not with My Publisher :( Hope this helps you~ goodluck~

Hi SueRobs -

I'm so sorry that you experienced an error message when trying to export your book. That error message basically means that something in your book file became corrupt during your export or import. This can happen, although incredibly infrequently, when your file does not save completely during the export process. Many times books are recoverable from this state, so I recommend you contact customer service to see if they can help get your file.

The same thing happened to me after working for about 10 hours on the album with my mother on a 100 page book. I couldn't seem to get it to work from my father's laptop - when I pressed purchase the book it wouldn't let me purchase it just said that the book was uploading after over an hour.
So I exported it to a CD and now am 100s of miles away from them trying to order the book. It has the error message: failed to parse the book DIME package. Any suggestions?
Should I try from a new computer or should I try and have it downloaded again on a CD?
If I export it from a PC, can I import it to a MAC?

Hi Amyhorne - MAC & PC's are not complatible for importing and exporting. I'm sorry about the export issue. My recommendation is to go back to the initial laptop and try the upload again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
