View Full Version : Web Browser Does Not Launch

Hello, I have spent quite a bit of time and can't seem to get the web browser to open so that I may order my book.
I have tried all the tips and tricks in the forums, downloading Mozilla and setting it to default, changing the security settings in IE, turning off my firewall and McAffe, restarting my computer etc.
Nothing seems to be working.
Are there any settings in MyPublisher itself that need to be changed?
I spent all this time building this fabulous book and all I want to do is give you money! :) The last thing I want to do is have to do it all over in another program.
I went through step by step on the FAQ page. This does not seem to be the solution.
Any other tips?

Have you also turned off pop-up blockers? And are you on a work or school network? Often times, institutional networks have their own security which would block the upload process.

Have you opened your browser, reduced it to an icon and then opened Bookmaker to upload your book? I have a cable connection that is open 24/7 so all I have to do is click on Upload and it connects automatically. But, if you don't have a 24/7 connection, you may need to open your internet connection first.

Mmm - just done a test 'book' using the 'Auto Build' option and guess what - I was allowed to 'purchase' with no problem!
WE NEED ADVICE, MY PUBLISHER, ABOUT WHAT IS GOING ON HERE!

You wouldn't happen to have a special character in the name of you book...i.e., &?? That is what caused my problem.

Hi BK - I have just tried your suggestion and it hasn't made any difference.
Thanks for the help anyway - pitty Publisher are not so forthcoming with suggestions.

This may not work but try renaming your book. Then load the renamed book and then open your browser and then try to purchase. Who knows..it might work.

Yea!!!! You just wonder why it didn't work from the original book. Weird. But I'm just glad it worked for you!!

Hi Carrie - I'm in the same boat and I could cry - was so happy with the finished book - now I want to buy 2 and make more - but no way - nothing works - just as you did, tried all the tricks & manipulations they issued - still will not go to purchase. If you get anywhere, please let me know and I'll do the same for you - I don't like this site at all now but I love what I created there. Thanks.

I have experienced similar problems with the updated version. The browser that is My Publisher is not, or does not, look like the Explorer browser. I have turned off the McAfee firewall, Pop-Up blocker is turned off. Programs within the task manager have been turned off and still, when I click NEXT on the (5) Purchase page.......nothing happens. I hope I just didn't buy six or seven of the same books! I've never had a problem with this before. Any advise?

I have Internet Explorer 7 with Windows XP Pro. I also have Norton 360 which has firewalls, anti-virus and you name it protecting my system. I do have a cable connection which runs 7/24. I have had no problem uploading any of my books. I received my confirmation emails within minutes of my upload and my books arrived as promised.
Are you using Windows? Have you run updates recently? I update regularily and that seems to keep my system going. Have you set IE as your default browser? Have you enabled cookies in your security? Maybe Mozilla and IE are conflicting with one another.
Lastly, have you tried opening your browser before opening your book? Perhaps that is the problem. Open your browser, reduce it to an icon and then open MyPublisher and your book. Try uploading and see if that works.

It doesn't hurt to try the renaming, etc. mentioned on 9/20/2007. It worked for Imagemaker!
