I have seen several books that have included transparent pages that have an embedded or overlayed image. Is this something that My Publisher offers in any of its' book styles? Or is this something that I must do in Photoshop? If so any tips on how to do this would be appreciated. Additonally, can a transparent page be placed anywhere within a book? Thanks for any help.

Not quite sure what you mean by a "Transparent Page".
More than likely it needs to be done in Photoshop, but before I can give you some basic steps, I need to get a better understanding.
Is there a link to a book that you can provide?
Thanks!

Hello Rob,
This is the link to the book where I noticed the "Transparent" pages http://www.mypublisher.com/bookstore/book_viewer.py?d=tq%3Ey-cppl%60je%3E%3A19%3A%3A9 .

Hello Cedar:
I see that you have linked to my book.
You can use transparent pages whenever or wherever you like. It is an effect that is done using Photoshop.

As Nate points out, it can be done in Photoshop (or any other image editing program).
The specific terms you are looking for are "layers" and "opacity". In Photoshop, each element you create or add (like another image, text, etc.) is on a separate layer. You can then adjust the opacity (the amount/lack of transparency) for each layer from 0% (completely transparent) to 100% (you can't see anything through it).
For more information, go to www.photoshoptv.com and watch their short (2-6 minute) video tutorials.
Creating full page images in Photoshop is a lot of fun and lets you break free from pre-built templates (if you don't like them).
Be forewarned, though; Photoshop is a professional-level tool that has a lot of functionality to it. It's easy to get overwhelmed. That being said, have fun and experiment. After all, it just costs you your own time.
