Every time I bring up Bookmaker 2.2, it asks me to sign in with Windows Live ID. When I do, I get an error message "We could not sign you in because Windows Live ID responded with an error..."

When I click cancel, it tries repeatedly to log me in to MSN Users.

Thanks for the help.

Hi,

This problem is pretty annoying, and the answers I'm getting from email tech support aren't appropriate.

Every time I start up, bookmaker 2.2 accesses the internet and, for some reason, causes a Windows Live ID login dialog to appear. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software, and rebooted and it still happens. The problem occurs even if Bookmaker is the only software being run.

If I disconnect the internet connection and run bookmaker, I get an error saying it cannot connect (although I can continue with Bookmaker).

Alen in support said that you have no affiliation with Windows Live ID.

Are you sure you don't use them for any authentication? Does Bookmaker connect to the internet when it is run?

Sue asked me questions about my computer configuration (processor etc.).

This isn't quite a showstopper, but it is annoying.

I hope you can help.

Thanks,

Al

I've resolved this issue. It looks like it was spyware.

I ran an Ad-aware scan, quarantined/deleted the things it found, and the problem is now gone.

Thanks for the help,
