Has the ability to paste text into MP been removed? I know the warnings about doing this because of special characters & the like - but for literally years, on all text pages I have copied the text from WORD & successfully pasted it into MP, then proofed it with no problems.

The last 2 builds I've used of 4.0 I can: cut/copy/paste WITHIN MP, and I can copy in MP and paste it back out to WORD. But when I copy in WORD, I am unable to paste it into MP even though it's on the clipboard & I can paste it into any other document. (using CTRL V)
(I have tried many different WORD docs and of course have reloaded MP over multiple builds). Thanks.

I just tried several methods and cannot paste into the MP software.

This is a very important function that has been removed from the software with this version 4.0 and I believe the tech support folks should look into why it was removed.

I am going to write Customer Support and see if I can get an answer.

This is the reply I received to my email to Customer Service. I still cannot paste into the text boxes, nor are all the fonts on my computer available...even the normal ones..Cruiser

Thanks for taking the time to contact the MyPublisher Customer Service Team!

I am sorry for the trouble you are having, but you should be able to copy and paste text into MyPublisher. The newest version, 4.0, can support pretty much any text that is on your computer. However, if you downloaded or purchased a unique font or are using special characters, MyPublisher may have trouble reading it.

I would suggest trying to paste the text into NotePad, and then copy from there to paste into MyPublisher. If this does not work, then you may need to use a different font. I am sorry if that is an inconvenience!

Please let us know if you need anything else, thanks!

I was able to paste into Notepad then copy and paste into the text boxes in MP, however the font I chose did not work. I would like to use the Baroque Script which I have on my computer but when I paste it into MP, it is changed to one of the MP fonts.

So, we are still limited to the selected fonts that MP can support. If we want another font, we will have to use Photoshop, Elements, Power Point, In Design or some other third party program to set up our page and save as a .jpeg file.

For me, this is not a problem but for others it is. Many folks do not use any of the third party programs so I would like to see MP accept any font that we have on our computers. They seem to have worked out the colored background issue so now we need for them to work on the fonts we want to use whether they are standard, purchased, or downloaded from the internet.

To keep your fonts paste from Word to WordPad (comes with Windows) and then into MyPublisher. We will be fixing this as it should be working properly from pasting from Word, but is not.

I've just completed a 100-page book, at least half of it pure text. Almost all of it originated as speeches and comments in MS Word. I hadn't realized that there was a problem getting it into myPublisher until I read this thread. I simply (perhaps naively) highlighted it in Word and dragged it into the book text boxes. I used mostly a simple font, Times New Roman size 12 or 10, but occasionally I dropped in an exotic signature-type text, even some text in a custom red-black colour, and it all dragged over fine. It even retained the text colour, although that is not an option in publisher4.

It is a bit tricky, however, in that columns even on the same page do not snake the text from one to the other. So I would drag in as much as I thought it would take, then a bit more or less until the column is full. Then do the same with the second column. I would be nice if the software could snake the text. Eventually, I'm sure it will, as myPublisher develops into more than just a photobook publisher.

Do be careful too to keep the text simple in Word - that is, don't drag over something that is double-spaced and expect to be able to change the spacing. Re format it into single spaced text first, if that is what you want.

Anyway, it works. Just a drag, that's all. MG :)

For the record, dragging and dropping text from MSWord into MyPublisher text box works also with foreign text: As part of my book, I had a short segment in French, complete with accented characters generated in MS Word. It dragged over fine and it printed fine. Also, another text I had to work with was all highlighted in yellow, not the text, the background to the text as if gone over with a highlighter. It too dragged over just fine. In the end, I didn't print it; I put back into Word, eliminated the highlighter, dragged it back in. Hope and trust it works for you too. MG.
