My wife is trying to download the trial version of 4.0, but gets the message that it is unable to remove mypublisher.exe. I switched user (I am administrator) and was able to download it fine, but now the program does not show up when she logs on. What can I do so that the program is available to her when she logs in? Hope you can help...we're anxious to get started.

Give her admin access too and then install the software, if need be then remove her admin access after the software is installed.

You can download from MyPublisher or Costco and get Ver 4.0...

If you have an old version of MP, remove it completely using your Control Panel. With a PC, you can go to: Run, Appedit, Roaming and remove any MP folders that may remain.

I would run a complete virus scan first. Do a search for any MP files and delete them. Defragment the hard drive. See how much room is left on the hard drive. MP places several copies of your picture files in the program and a book could take up to 2 or more gigs depending on the number of pictures and the size of them.

If you have any other book making software, I would suggest removing those files also.

Download a fresh copy of Ver 4.0 and reinstall. When you reinstall, turn your anti-virus off and if you have "Defender" on your computer turn it off too. See if this helps.

I am not very tech savy.
What happens to a book I am currently working on in the old version if I remove the old version and install the new version of MP?

Hello All,

No worries, reinstalling and/or upgrading will not harm or effect your current books.

Don't remove or delete the current program, as your book is stored on your computer and doing so may damage the file.

Simply install over the existing copy of the progrm.

Kindest Regards,
