I want to produce a book, and then maybe make a few changes to customize it for someone else, and order it in another size or style. Will I be able to apply changes like that easily?
thanks.

Define "easily" :-)

Actually, just export the book and then import it again as a new book and make your changes.

There's no way to dynamically version the book on the fly, but you don't have to write over the original version either.

Thanks. I guess i was more curious about how difficult it is to change it after i've published - to change size/style and add photos or pages.

I'm not sure i need to maintain the past versions, altho that is also good to know.

thanks.

Since both the BookMaker software and the book reside on your computer, you can always open it, make changes/additions/etc. and then re-upload it.

It's one of the (many) benefits of keeping everything local and then simply uploading the final product.

But Beware!
I tried to do that last week. My original book was done in 2.1 and I upgraded to 2.2. As I worked with my original and added more photos, it slowed down and kept freezing up. I had to abandon it altogether and started a 60 page book over from scratch using the new software. So far, so good. I'm almost done, but have some issues with the text I'm trying to add now...but that is for another forum.

Question: Can't one simply save the book a second time under another name and then modify the new version? (I thought I did that with a book I wanted to order with a different format and cover.)

Yes, you can select Save As under the File menu in BookMaker to save a copy of your original book. This will allow you to make changes to a 2nd version while keeping your original version in tact.

If you don't need to keep the original version, you can do as Rob suggested and simply open the book you've already made, change it and then order it again. The new file with the changes will be uploaded to us upon re-order.
