Hi Jeccak -

Wireless is not a problem. Please try the following tips:

Can?t upload

It sounds like there may be some type of firewall issue that is not allowing BookMaker to access the internet. MyPublisher Bookmaker needs to connect to the internet in order to function properly.

If the Bookmaker splash screen is freezing when you launch the software or you are having difficulty uploading your book, please refer to the suggestions below to ensure a successful connection and upload:

~ Close all web browser windows and programs including BookMaker.

~ Turn off (disable) your anti-virus and anti-spyware software. Programs like Process Guardian, Hijack This, and WinPatrol must be given permission for MyPublisher Bookmaker to connect to the internet.

~ Your firewall may be set too high. Allow the http://www.mypublisher.com URL to be accessed through your firewall. If you have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed, you must ensure that you have either disabled your Microsoft Windows Firewall (or other brand software firewall) or have added MyPublisher Bookmaker to your firewall permissions. Please refer to the Help section of your firewall software for any other software manufacturer other than Microsoft.

~ Please refer to the Help section of your software if you are using a firewall other than Windows XP's Firewall. To allow MyPublisher Bookmaker to connect through Windows XP's Firewall:
i. Click on My Computer
ii. Click on Control Panel
iii. Click on Security Center
iv. Click on Windows Firewall (under Manage Settings for:)
v. Click on the tab labeled Exceptions
vi. Click Add Program
vii. Scroll down until you see MyPublisher Bookmaker and then click on it. Then click OK to close the window.
viii. Click OK to close the Manage Settings Window and then close the Security Center window.

~ If you have a router you may want to try to enable DMZ so your computer is excluded from the firewall. To do this you should go on the manufacture's website of the router and get specific directions for your router.

~ If you do not have a router, and you have disabled all of your firewall and antivirus software it can be caused by too many programs running in the background, a virus, or spyware.

~ Add MyPublisher to your Internet Explorer Trusted Sites:

i. Right-click on your Internet Explorer Icon on your desktop
ii. Click on Properties
iii. Click on the Security tab
iv. Click on the Check Mark marked Trusted Sites
v. Click on Sites
vi. Add http://www.mypublisher.com
vii. Click on OK

AOL

*AOL customers please note that if you are using AOL software (i.e. AOL 9.0 VR) to browse the internet and it is set as your default web browser, you may not be able to access our shopping cart. Here's how to resolve the issue:

- Simply launch the Microsoft Internet Explorer (not the web browser from within your AOL software)

- Click on Tools and then Internet Options.

- Click on the Programs tab and check off the box that says "Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser" or "tell me if Internet Explorer is not my default browser" if you are using Internet Explorer 7.

I have been having problems purchasing also. When I click purchase and it goes to a page that says:

You are currently in the middle of an upload session

Once your purchase and upload are complete you will see an order confirmation page with your order number.

You have clicked back into the bookmaker software (this is in red)

We recommend that you return to the shopping cart by clicking back into your internet browser window to ensure that your book is fully uploaded and the transaction is complete.

At this time, if you make any changes to your book, your purchase session will be cancelled. If you wish to cancel your purchase session, you can do so by clicking back to Make Book or closing your internet browser window

I have tried everything that you suggested and it still is not working. IE is coming up but won't load the page. I have IE 7.0 and have Vista. is there anything else I could try?

Hello Ablanton -

I recommend contacting customer service. They can walk you through some additional tricks for connecting. The page you see is in the client. It sounds like what is happening is that your browser is not launching for some reason. The browser (IE) is needed to complete the purchase and upload.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

My browser is working fine for all other processes.

Please advise!

I can't get the program to save my work, so that I could restart the computer. Is anyone else having this problem? Suggestions?

I uploaded a 47 page Deluxe album last night and it went through just fine including the CostCo discount. I have ordered four times and have not had a single problem with the software or the upload. I receive my confirmation immediately by email and the books have shipped in the four day period promised. I received an email today that a book I ordered last Thursday shipped today and is in the bookstore now for viewing.

I am on a cable connection, running Windows XP Pro with SP2. I have Norton 360 software that protects me from everything but I still have good luck uploading files. My files are RGB between 1.5 and 3.65 mb. I wish I could help you but everything seems go be going fine on my computer. Perhaps one of your files is corrupted and that might prevent the upload.

Well, I am at a point where I would recommend people not use this product. I've put in many hours constructing a book that the program will not allow me to save, and I cannot print. I have yet to get any help that solves the issues. I'm frustrated.

You can choose Save book under the File menu option in the upper left hand corner of BookMaker. This will save your book so next time you open the program, you can continue working on it.

I'm sorry to hear you are having trouble with uploading your book for print. BookMaker does need to make a connection to our server in order to upload the book file. This connection can be interrupted by pop-up blockers, firewalls or security software. Please be sure to disable these or set them to the lowest settings. Also, cookies must be enabled.

Hope this helps!
