Hi,

I've put together many wedding albums using MyPublisher with images from my Canon EOS 5D (4368x2912) without resizing in Adobe Lightroom and they've always looked great - I've never had any issues with pixellation.

I'm just about to create my first album with images from my new Canon EOS 5D Mark II (5616x3744). I will be using the Deluxe Hardcover Book format which, I see from earlier threads, supports maximum dimensions of 4275x3338 pixels.

I noticed this quote from MyPublisher in one of the threads: "If, on the other hand, your images slightly exceed the specs, or are used in a smaller size in the book (in a four per page layout for example), your software will downsize them accordingly – no adjustments are necessary".

I imagine a jpeg of size 5616x3744 can be said to more than "slightly exceed" the specs so it's time to start downsizing?

I've got quite a few albums to put together over the next month so am looking for the most efficient way of preparing photos - ideally I'd like to use just one standard setting for all my jpegs. Would people recommend that I just export all my photos from Lightroom, ensuring that none is larger than 4275x3338, and then let the MyPublisher software downsize those that will appear smaller due to multiple photo-per-page layouts?

Any advice will be gratefully received.

All the best,

David

Hi David

If your images exceed the recommended specs by so much, it is recommended to utilize separate image editing software to downsize them a bit. As usual, the software will advise you if your images do not conform to our standards by outlining the photos in red.

If you have any further questions, please contact MyPublisher Customer Care and we'll be happy to assist you further.

Best regards,
MyPublisher

So MyPublisher software will outline a picture in red if it is too big as well as too small?
Thanks!

Hi David,

Our software will warn you with the red outline if your images are either too large for the photo molds which you've chosen to place them in, or otherwise fall outside of our guidelines.

So, your best bet is to review our reccommended guidelines, but also to further edit or replace any images which do appear with red outlines in the book, within our software on your computer.
