When I do as instructed in one of the emails in this board (right click, properties, summary, advanced on my images) all of my scanned images have a horizonal and vertical dpi of 96........

I'm new to this, so what does this mean? Should they be 300? If so, why aren't they? I know that when I scanned them they were at a higher dpi than that....

Thanks!

Thanks Cruiser.

I checked my photos, and I had scanned them at 1200 dpi. (I don't know why my computer at work was showing something else) Do you think they will be okay, even though MP recommends 300? Or, should I go back and convert them to 300 dpi? They have a blue box, but I remember someone on here saying something about them coming out blurry if your resolution is too high (which didn't make sense to me....)

I don't have photoshop, but my image processing software (ArcSoft PhotoStudio) has the conversion option. Thanks for letting me know. I'm working my way through the stack.

I've made two books so far - one for my dad, and one for a friend's wedding gift, and they loved them. I had only used digital photos in those books however - this is my first attempt at scanning old photos. I don't expect them to be perfect - some are pretty blurry to begin with, but I at least want them usable!

Thanks for your help
