I'm creating my wedding album with MyPublisher... and I can't fit all of my pictures into one book! I'd love to be able to keep my photos all in one book. Is there any way you could increase the number of pages allowed per book?

More pages would definitely be helpful.

I have used this program many times to create books, but am finding
that i have more and more photo's to include in each books that require
additional pages....The ability to make these books larger when needed
would be quite a plus!!!! There has to be some way to do it.

I agree. I just did a family history book and had to break it into volumes due to the number of pages. It was kind of a bummer to not have ONE book

I think that if you had much more than 100 pages per book, that some of your pics would get eaten up by the binding. You would most likely have to chose smaller versions of the pics so that they would be fully seen.

Hello Everyone -

Yes, more than 100 pages is a lot of pages! Marlapf is also correct, in that the binding will get too tight. I hope everyone is enjoying making their PhotoBooks!

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

I have several trips where I have had to assemble 2-3 albums. I like to limit each page to 1-3 pictures, so I use a lot of pages. More pages in each album would be very helpful

Surely there is a way to make it work without adverse effects to the photos... there are large picture books everywhere. The books would need a bigger edge, but I for one would definitely be willing to spend a few extra bucks to be able to get all of my images into one book. I'm doing my wedding album and as it stands, I have to have three different books. There are other similar websites that offer 160 pages (but the largest size book is 11x8) and one that offers 440 pages (though this one does indeed have binding issues). But I love MyPublisher, the quality is great and I'm very happy with the book I have ordered... I'd much rather stick with this company, but the higher page count is really a biggie to me.

HI Bianca -

I apologize but at this time we only offer books up to 100 pages. I do see that there is an interest for larger books, so I will be keeping this in mind for future development.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

Another option for Mypublisher to consider would be to offer a 2-3 book package. Something where you'd receive any number of books that could be taken out of a holder separately--I am thinking the way collectors copies are sold. I think the Harry Potter books are or will be sold that way--where you get all the copies with their bindings facing out of a collectors box. I'm thinking this would be useful for those of us that are creating "Rehearsal Dinner" and "Wedding" albums --want them together but separate. Or various parts of a single wedding album. Basically, now you just keep creating new books. But it'd be nice if you have over 100 pages of "stuff" where the program wouldn't just abruptly end but could allow you to work on 2-3 consecutive books at once. Then you could have all your pictures and know you were arranging them in book sequences. I can see this could be a programming and user nightmare with so many photos to keep track of. Another feature idea: it'd be nice if when you used a photo in the album, if used photos could change color or go to a different section. As it stands, when working with 100 (or more....) pages of photos, its easy for the designer to forget and place the same picture twice by accident (rather than purposely). That's a post-ful. Any comment from mypublisher?

Bianca,

You're correct in that there are photo books out there with a lot more than 100 pages in them. However, the production of them would cost a lot more than the $30 or $40 we currently pay for the Classic Hardcover.

One of the main issues (besides MyPublisher having to purchase new binding equipment) is called "Binding Creep". I'm not referring to that ugly little man who sits in a corner and staples things, but rather the problem that, as the number of pages grows, the images on those pages appear to start moving.

Basically, since paper has thickness, the more paper you add, the thicker the book becomes. Another consequence, though, is that the pages in the center are harder to view because a much larger percentage of the sheet is used not in the binding, but just folding over. In other words, if you take a large book that is bound like the books from MyPublisher, open it up in the center you will see that a lot (almost half) the page is hidden from view. Or, at least, it is difficult to view.

So, to add a lot more pages means that MyPublisher would have to go to a much more expensive binding process.

Hello Everyone -

Rob is quite knowledgeable! Yes, our books are specifically design to hold no less than 20 pages and no more than 100 pages, as is our equipment at this time. I like the idea of a box set...I will at that to the list of things to analyze demand for.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

I think that the idea of a box set (multiple books housed together in a specially created 'box') is a great idea!!!

It is the perfect solution for weddings (rehearsal dinner, wedding, brunch, honeymoon) or for Xmas when I make books for my parents (one book for each kid), etc.

I would definitely order loads of these!!!

I definitely agree with this. My photographer took over 800 pictures for my wedding and I had a hard time cutting a bunch out in order to get them all into one book. I didn't like having to condense 12 pics on one page.

I would have definitely loved a box set idea since I could, as Monique suggested, break apart the pictures into different sections (pre-wedding, ceremony, reception, etc). This also works great for other themes as well.

Rob, that makes a lot of sense... thanks for clearing that up. I agree about the box set, that would be a great solution! :)

I have what may seem a silly question. Is the maximum 100 pages (front and back included), for a total of 50 sheets? Or is it actually 100 sheets, which using front and back would actually be 200 pages?

Thanks,

Michael Gordon

I don't think that's a silly question at all!

My understanding is that it is 100 PAGES, not 100 sheets. So you really get 50 sheets with which to work.
