I just joined and I've finished my first project over the past few days. I did it all in powerpoint and would like some constructive criticisms before I order. Most of the book contains pictures of my girls. The last few are mainly of my father who passed away in January. THANKS!

Very nice book. I like what you did in PP.
The only constructive critism I might add is I really several pictures... like the one of Zoe holding the cat, and the picture of the little mermaid holding both girls but I'm bothered by the fade on those. They are strong pictures and I would like to truely see them. You can layer pictures without fading them out. Thou there is a place for fades. Others might disagree with me.
Overall I think it's a great book. Nicely done.

Thanks for the reply. I was afraid I would lose the other pics on the page if the big ones weren't faded a bit. Perhaps I could make the others B&W or some other effect to make them a bit different. I'm not sure how to layer them full color without running them together. I guess I'll just play with it some more. I see right now that this could become addictive. :p

I haven't played with PowerPoint for making the layouts but I use photoshop and when I want to make pictures that are overlapping stand out I do a couple of different things.
1. I add a drop shadow to the photos if they are on a light back ground.
or
2. I add a stroke around the photo.
I'm pretty sure you can do that with PP as well.
The black and white idea is good too. Good luck.
