Enhanced photos

I'm looking for some help with "enhanced" photos. When I click the icon for enhanced photos, the entire photo brightens, but I'm not sure what it will actually look like in the photobook. Also, can you only enhance a portion of a photo? I went to Nepal and have some stunning photo's of Mount Everest. I'm new at this and would appreciate any help I can get.
