Considering paperback for gift

But I'm worried about the quality - I'm making a book of my daughter's poetry. She's six-years old and has sweet hand-written poems and illustrations that I think I can fit in a smaller size because I have to give them to all family and teachers. Wanted to give hardback to family and paperback to teachers - but can anyone vouch for the quality of the cover, especially with an image on it? I'm assuming that pages are the same quality so those will be fine.
