Help with photoshop

I'm relatively new to photobooks, and I'm trying to create a layout using CS3. Every time I convert the psd file to jpeg (as a flattened image, using the recommended sizes) and then import the jpeg into the book, the image comes out really blurry; all the original detail from the pictures is gone. What am I doing wrong? I've tried looking at the threads, but everyone seems to recommend something different. Thanks!

Are you giving the program enough time after drag/drop to process the image? And have you tried zooming in after?

My picture would come out blurry too for a few seconds, then fix itself. And if I zoomed in, it wouldn't be blurry any longer. I have a pretty good computer too, so I think it's just the software lagging sometimes when you're giving it large image files to work with.
