I really like the idea of this product. Being a professional graphic designer and wedding photographer, I am a little disappointed with the few choices for page design. (The printed graphics...not photo layout)

Is there a way to import your own graphics, or will you be issuing any more designs for your books?

I suppose I could design full bleed pages and print them like that...but thought I would ask the question.

Thanks,

Dean

I am a wedding photographer and I use my publisher to make my wedding albums. What I do is custom design all of my wedding albums in Photoshop and save them as 8.5X11.33 size images. Then, I save them as a jpg and enter them into the book using the I photo per page option. This is really great because if opens all kinds of doors. I actually design them in a two page spread and then crop them into one page designs. That way I can have one picture across two pages and all sorts of fun ideas.

YUP! The above is correct! You can use powerpoint OR photoshop and save them as JPGS then upload the entire file. That way the book can look HOWEVER you want :)

I would not recommend using PowerPoint to create your own layouts. PowerPoint has very low-resolution image graphics that will not print well.

Jpegs need to be created with a dpi between 180 and 300. Most monitors only display at 72 dpi so while a Powerpoint graphic may look okay on your computer, the print quality will be disappointing.

Please keep this in mind for creating images in PhotoShop. You can also find out more about our image specifications in our Help section.

Sincerely,

I am helping my friend by designing a wedding album for her. I am just learning photoshop elements and believe I am ready to start designing her album after spending months doing retouching (she is older and had much sun damage to her skin). Now is the fun part ( I hope). I will be using elements to design the album and love the look of the two page spreads. Can you tell me why you save the files in the dimensions you mentioned (8.5 x 11.33) which is different from the 8.75 x 11.25 dimensions. Is it because of the binding and what other design options should I keep in mind. Thank you in advance.
