I am new to MP and have spent a lot of time creating some slides in powerpoint. The measurement of the slide is 11.25 x 8.75 (which is the same as the pages in the classic book). I recently moved my slides into my photobook and have a red line around my photos. Apparently the slides are 1080 x 840 with a dpi of 96. This did not make me happy after all of the hard work and time that i have put into creating several slides. I figured that since the sizes were the same everything would have transferred without a problem. I have read many threads/posts about this and I think I'm confusing myself. I was hoping that some wonderful person would help me out and answer my questions.

1. I now see that the resolution isn't high enough. It appears that the easiest way around this is to make the slides 33.75" W and 26.25" H so that my resolution will increase when i place the slide into MP. Is this how most people who use PP do it? And will this work?

2. And once I transfer the slide into MP will it automatically shrink it to the dimensions of the page in MP?

3. Initially when i was making my slides in PP i wasn't accounting for a margin because I figured it wouldn't matter because my slides are the same size as the book. In reading some of the threads I read some talk of people using margins. Should I make a margin on my power point slide or at least account for a margin on the slides? how much of a margin should i account for?

4. As far as the binding goes, should I just move everything over a 1/2" to account for the binding?

Please help. I'm really looking forward to doing my book, but am now very frustrated!

My response would be the same as I've said before (see my comments on the page link below). You "just" need to get enough pixels, but even then, PP compresses the pictures to a lower quality than I would have liked. I will use something other than PP next time (if I can ever find the time to work on the next one!)

As far as margins, I don't put anything important too close to the edge. The preview is fairly accurate. I moved things away from the edges based on what I saw in preview, and had no complaints with picture placement in the final book. The inner edge (the binding seam) is a little less accurate in the preview, I think just because the printed book doesn't lie flat, so you have to keep that in mind.

Good luck!
