I will be selling my book creations as guestbooks to wedding clients.

What type of pen/marker do you recommend for it that won't cause smudging?

Haven't tested it, but a ball point pen will probably be your best bet. Although a thin marker (like a Sharpie) will write nicely, it takes a while for that kind of ink to dry and as soon as someone signs and turns the page, it will smudge.

Personally, though, I would be more concerned with the ink's longevity on that type of paper. Great idea to use it for a guest book - take a series of pictures from the couple's engagement and use them on the left hand pages and signature lines on the right.

Hi Keepsake Girl -

Well I may be a MyPublisher employee, but I am also getting married soon and have made a MyPublisher guest book. I have made these as gifts for my friends as well. I recommend a permanent marker that has a fine point. Ball point is nice too but that can also smudge, Best bet is to test it out on a corner.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

I took a chance and bought the Photomarker by American Crafts. It writes on photos and other slick surfaces. I find that it dries instantly and writes beautifully on the pages of the book. I purchased it at Michael's in the scrapbooking section. I hope this helps.
