software preference???

I have been using Photo Elements 4 for a few years and really like it...but there are some things I can't do. I would like to upgrade. Has anyone compared Photoshop with CS3 to see which is easier to use?:confused::rolleyes:

Photoshop and CS3 are the same product more or less. Both are made by Adobe. CS2, CS3 and CS4 (just released in September) all include Photoshop. My point is that they all have the same ease of usability with minor differences, and the novice user would find them all to work in the same ways.

I was wondering what you can't do in PhotoShop Elements 4? A friend at work got it free with a camera but he already uses something else & said he'd give it to me.

I've never used it, so I'm just looking for an idea of what NOT to waste my time trying to do... I'm not completely happy with Scrapbook Factory (particularly its work with layers and custom-made templates). And, I wanted to try something capable of making higher quality JPGs than PowerPoint.
