Dear MP,

As I urgently need my book tomorrow before I leave the country on Friday, I paid for the FedEx International Priority shipping which should take 1-2 business days to arrive.
Both your Shipping section on website, and the shipping confimation you sent me, state that you shipped with FEDEX_INT_PRIOR.

But the FedEx tracking service online, and their telephone customer service, tell me you sent it with Economy which takes 5 business days to arrive! What that means is that the books are scheduled to arrive Monday (far too late for me).

1. Why are you giving false information on the website and your e-mails?
2. Are you consciuosly overcharging for shipping?
3. Why have you not replied to my third e-mail already?

Regards,
N.

Another day gone by, no answer (neither here, nor to my e-mails)....

...and the saddest thing is that I know the book will be gorgeous and I wish I could take it with me as I planned...

Ha! This becomes an adventure to me.

After killing FedEx customer service for 2 days now with my phone calls, I have been informed that I may be able ro pick up my books from the national depot at an airport in another city early tomorrow... on my way out of the country...

..will update you if I managed to!

I had a similar experience. I paid for OVERNIGHT delivery to get the books before I left the country (bringing them as gifts).

On a Monday order, they shipped the books 7 days later!! Then when it was shipped, they did overnight delivery - but by then I had left the country with the books arriving days later.

Anon, Dont forget the still have to make the book.

This is from their website

"Your order can arrive in as little as three business days with overnight shipping. Otherwise expect it in four to seven business days, depending on where you live."

True sea_minerals, they have to make the book.

But my case was simple - sending with cheaper option while advertising the faster one... and I can also quote from the website that they send books to Europe with Fedex
International Priority.

...I was REALLY lucky - the national depot where all the packages arrive before being distributed was just next to the airport I was at when flying out, so for additional 20 bucks I managed to take a taxi there and pick up my books directly from FedEx.

FYI, the books were beautiful and my parents were tremendously happy. Cover was also nicely done, and paper was thick and nicely 'covered' with slight gloss. The printing quality was poorer than I expected, thought it was pretty enough for family gifts.

However I still have not received received any reply from MyPublisher as to the shipping... will I ever get it, MP?

Yeah! Finally response.

Yesterday's conversation:

Me:
Dear All,
I am writing again as I have received no response, neither to this e-mail, nor previous ones, nor in my thread on the Forum. Will you please explain why you ship with Economy if you promise to send with Priority and charge accordingly? Since I now have your numbers I will call you this week if I receive no reply.

MyPublisher:
Greetings Natalia, Thank you for contacting us. Fedex International Economy and Fedex international Priority are actually the same service. Our website names it priority as it is faster than our other delivery method which is Fedex International Ground but that can take up to 16 business days and is only available for pocketbooks. The Fed!ex international Priority will take 3-5 business days. I checked FedEx's website and it says your order was delivered on September 5th.

Me:
Thanks a lot for your answer. Yes, I got the book on the 5th but if you have a careful look on the tracking system, you will see that I picked it up myself. I travelled from London to Stansted Airport to pick it up myself from the warehouse before its distribution! The delivery was only scheduled for 8th September. I also had a look at FedEx website and contrary to what you write below, there are both Economy and Priority options, so it is not the same. Feel free to look here: http://www.fedex.com/us/services/intl/
I also quote:
Time-definite delivery in 1, 2 or 3 business days > > > > > FedEx International Priority
Time-definite delivery in 2-5 business days > > > > > FedEx International Economy

MyPublisher:
I am very sorry for the inconvenience, but our fastest shipping option to Europe takes 3-5 business days. We do not have any other shipping options at this time. Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

Me:
If that is so, I suggest you change the description on your website and also on your confirmation e-mails to International Economy, so that it is not misleading anymore.

MyPublisher:
I will forward your suggestions to my superiors. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

So, after all, MP did not really admit the mistake and I really doubt if "mentioning to supervisor" would change anything... but I wanted to share that with you in case anyone else is wondering why they're getting Economy!

Best,
N
