Editing a shared book

My friend created a book to share/purchase and I was wondering if there is a way I can edit what she has done to include some of my own pictures. I just want to use hers as a template and customize it for myself. Is this possible and if so, how would I do it? Thanks.

Frankly, I hope that there is no way that someone else can alter my book, permission or not! Why don't you send your images to your friend so that he or she can amend the original book? To allow an outside viewer the ability to change someone's book actually horrifies me!!
