View Full Version : How about support for something other than jpg...

I don't shoot jpgs. Why? Because I want flexibility and control and I don't want a loss of image quality due to compression. In short, I want the highest quality I can get.
For my photos, I never make or print JPEGs. Why can't / won't you accept another format (PSD, TIFF, etc.)?
Also, heavier stock would be a nice option. The books I have made all seem very thin and are damaged easily when tuning pages.

Hi Jeffstuff -
1) We have just recently increased the thickness of our paper for our classic and pocket books. You should be very happy with it! It's closer to the thickness of the deluxe paper.
2) We print JPEG's because for our presses, we only print 200 lpi, therefore a higher resolution wouldn't get you better clarity. Our presses print best when the file size is about 1-2 Mb. The majority of our customers and their cameras shoot with JPEG.
I hope this answers your question. At the moment we do not have plans to support other file types aside from jpegs.
Sincerely,
MyPublisher

Is the 200 LPI a change? In the Help section, 175LPI is mentioned as the press resolution.
Thanks!

Hi Rob - No it hasn't changed...the help section may just be a bit outdated. I'll take a look.
Thanks!
