I hope this isn't redundant - I tried several searches.
I think it would be helpful if MP developed a Pro Photographers section in which books created by those photographers could be available for review by the photographers customers but the photographer sets the price. I create books of weddings and other events and routinely have several customer orders for the same book. I think I could generate even more orders if I could send my customers to a page displaying my MP books ready to oder online. I currently can do this but there is no profit in it for me so the ordering process is slower.
Is there a way to accomodate photographer sales that is in place? even the ability to display book proofs on my site would be very helpful.
I should have mentioned this earlier - I absolutely love your books! They are wonderful and people can't get enough of them. Great work - keep it up!!!

Hi Wesb1999 - I am so happy you like our service. I am sorry to say but at this time, our bookstore is set up to facilitate reorders and book sharing. We are actually working on an enhancement to bookmaker that would make this process a bit better. I can't say more about it but it should serve your needs.
Sincerely,
MyPublisher

Nothing new has been posted here since March - any update?
I would love to have a retail site where I can send customers to order. Or, better yet, how about a front end integration module so that I can add my books to my web site, let people order through there, and the orders are actually submitted to/through MyPublisher?

Hi Irusan -
You are looking at the registered date, not the "posted" date. These are recent posts.

Oops - sorry about that! <sheepish grin>
Ahhh, the joys of having too much information visible.
Actually, since I posted this yesterday, I realized that there is a bookstore feature where I can sell copies of the books. Great start, thanks!
Here's my updated enhancement request (since seeing that) - I would love to be able to pull in the preview of selected books (with the page turning interaction) to my own site with a link that would send the login and password so that the person could immediately buy the book.
Also, if we could set prices that are above our costs, that would be sweet!
Thanks!
Rob (promising to look at posted dates henceforth!!)

OK, now its been over a year - so what's happening with the idea of having a link to send clients where they can preview and order books at a price set by the photographer? Would be very handy.

Any development on the possibility for photographers to set up a price for books to be ordered by customers??

Hi Msecchi,
There are no developments regarding professional pricing but I have notified my supervisor about your request.
We take our customers comments very seriously.

I have even thought of embedding the "share book" page in my website using an iframe tage, however there is still too much information linking back to the mypublisher pages for pricing etc. SPECIALLY the "want a free book" in big to the left of the front cover whn first opening the "mybookshelf" page with your album showing the front cover. I can imagine every client of mine saying - HEY I WANT A FREE BOOK!!!!!!! And we all know this is not possible!
where's the bookstore feature???

Hi refre5h,
As of right now there are no MyBookshelf features that leave out the MyPublisher. We always let our superiors know all the requests we receive.
Thanks for the feedback!

We got tired of waiting and created our own bookstore. It seems to be working pretty well.
Since we do all of our pages in InDesign, we just create either pdf files of the book with proof across every pages or export the pages to jpg and show a selection of pages on the website. Each book (two so far) have paypal buttons under them for customers to order. We would like a flash driven solution, but at the moment buying that program is not in our budget for this year.

We create a book each year and print several copies. It would be nice to have a way for people to go and purchase copies of our book but at a price that we set and with the options we want. Very similar to how Cafe Press works for tshirt designs. Having to give out order numbers and passwords to people is not very simple.
It would be nice if we could put a link on our website that takes them to a MyPublisher bookshelf that displays all our books we offer and an option to view and order them. It would be nice to be able to set the book price so we make something off the sale but tracking the sales and sending checks is a complicated process so we would understand if that is not possible. But we would like to limit the options the person has for ordering the book (size, cover type etc.) so the books all look the same.
There are also so many MyPublisher offers for 2 for 1 or 20-50% off it would be nice if we could come up with a fixed fair price for the book so everyone paid the same amount. We normally always print ours with one or more of the discounts at the time so books never cost retail so it is hard to convince people to buy a single copy of the book.
The options are so limited that we would probably have to do what others have done and create our own web page and then manually order the books online as the orders came in. But it would be so much simpler if fans of our books could just order through MyPublisher like we do.

Hi Jeff,
As of right now, we are not offering what you are requesting. However your feedback has been escalated to my supervisor.
