We just returned from 30 glorious days in Europe. We visited 11 countries: Spain, France (Provence), Switzerland, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, and Poland. I received my Deluxe Travel book today and am thrilled with the results! I really like this theme for books where I won't be using a lot of text. And the Deluxe size book showcases your photos like nothing else! See what you think.

Bravo Marti...well done. I only wish I had been along with you. This is one of your best books that you have shared with us. I might try this theme for my next travel book. You captured the heart of Europe...

Thanks, Cruiser. I love this book and truly wish people could see it in person. It's so impressive! The leather cover is beautifully tailored, the pages are thick and coated, and the images are bright and crisp. Because of the Deluxe book's very large size, the full-bleed pages showcase selected photos perfectly. But I particularly like this Travel style for the page designs. They provide an interesting backdrop for the photos as opposed to plain white, black or gray. I really enjoyed putting this one together and appreciate the compliment.

What a trip you had! I'm so envious. And your book is just the right mix of people and places to capture the experience. Well done.

Thanks, jackquin. I try to place photos of people on every 2-page spread to keep it a little more interesting. I find if I use too many back-to-back scenery-type shots, it gets boring, even if those photos are impressive. I also try to crop the photo to focus on the people or the central figure in the shot, or increase the size of the people in the photos. People who are too far away are not as interesting as people who are closer up.
Another thought: If you place a full-bleed photo on one page, do not do so on the facing page unless you've split the photo and it's supposed to extend over both pages, or unless the two full-bleed photos go together in some way and compliment one another by being across from each other.
The Travel theme book style is nice because the page designs are already done for you. You just drop in the photos and add a little text - viola, you're done!
Sorry, I got carried away - that's probably waaaay more info than you wanted. Thanks again for your nice words.

What a beautiful book. Did you prepare your full bleed pictures based on MP's recommendation? I am making a book using Travel theme as well. I love the books with black background page so I'm thinking to redo my book with a Modern theme. Too bad MP's travel theme does not offer black background option.

Thanks, Taiwan08! I didn't prepare my full-bleed photos at all, and I'm not sure anymore what MP's recommendations are. We took the pictures at a very high resolution setting on our cameras. In my computer, each photo measures between 3000-4000 in dimension. I just uploaded them into the full-bleed templates and boom, they looked pretty good - no adjustments were necessary. They even look better on the page in the actual Deluxe book than they do online.
I like the black pages, too. Cruiser does a number of her travel books with the black pages and they always look dynamic. I thought MP's travel style book had one black background template - the one with a single portrait image/no captions. I could be wrong. I haven't checked that out in awhile.

Thank you, Lisa.
The beauty of the Travel style book is that all the pages are already designed like that for you. You make your selection and drop the photo into the template - easy and quick - and when you're done, you have a beautiful book that looks like you spent hours on backgrounds and embellishments. There are other specialized themes to choose from, too, in MyPublisher: Baby Girl, Baby Boy, Collage, Wedding and Vintage. Check them out.
Thanks again for the compliment,
Marti

Marti,
Great job! And a wonderful trip! If one has a book to share, how do you point others to it in the forums?

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the compliment. Glad you enjoyed my book. And yes, our trip was quite perfect in almost every way!
Okay, on sharing your book in the forum:
1. When you've purchased a book, you'll be given an order number that begins with M and a password. You can include that information in your post on the forum and people can go to MyPublisher.com and access the book, or
2. You can access your view of the purchased book online and copy and paste the link to your post on the forum (which is what I did).
I hope this is clear, but now that I read it, it may be confusing. Maybe someone else with a better command of the English language will help us out. Let's see what happens.
