I'm way excited to have completed my first sample book for my photography business. I'm hoping the quality is as excellent as it appears to be as I would love to integrate these books as part of what I offer my clients.

I use a Nikon D200 camera and it's 10.2 mp, and I didn't notice until I had finished the book and was uploading it that the file sizes should be reduced or the smaller images would be pixelated, so I resized all of my images and started over. My only complaint with the bookmaker software is that it doesn't warn you about the images you import unless the resolution is too low. Other than that, it was a pretty easy process and I can't wait to see the finished product.

It looks fantastic! I love how you have quotes and also the black&white, color combos.

What do you mean that the smaller images will be pixelated? I'm working on creating my own book and my digital camera creates huge images which are great resolution. What are you considering a smaller image and how much did you reduce your images by before importing them onto the site?

How in the world did you get the B&W pics with the color accents?? I have seen that done so many times and would love to know the secret. Your book is beautiful! We just recently stepped up to a DSLR, the Nikon D60, and so far we like it. If you can give me any advice I'd appreciate it. Thanks and again beautiful job!

Thanks! I'm glad you like it!

I shoot all my images in color so I have the option to do effects w/ B&W later. I use Photoshop CS3 and I use the Magic Wand tool to select the colored areas that I want to preserve. I hold down the Shift key while selecting to make multiple selections and I adjust the tolerance as I go to make sure I'm not picking up sections of color I don't want to keep. After I've got my selections figured out, I go to Select -> Inverse and then I go to Images -> Adjustments -> Desaturate. Voila! You should now have a colored B&W picture.

I'm sorry I didn't reply to this sooner! I hope it's not too late for you. Check out the Help section on the MyPublisher site. They've got specs for how large an image should be, which is something like 1200 pixels x 1000 pixels or somethhing like that. My camera shoots at a higher pixel per inch rate, so I have to reduce the file sizes to MyPublisher's specs before printing. Basically, there are too many pixels per inch for it to look good based on the way the pages are printed. Too much data = bad images. If you follow the instructions on their site, you should be just fine and your book will turn out beautifully.

My book turned out just perfect and my clients love it! I'm so excited about MyPublsiher and how I can integrate their beautiful books with my beautiful pictures.

You have an awesome book and your photos are beyond words!!

What template did you use? I can not find one that allows text in the various spots and various presentations that you use unless they are just images integrated into your photos which is what I am thinking they may be.

That is exactly how I did it. I used the Just Photos templates and did my text in glorious Photoshop spreads.

one 3,

Loveyour book! I am trying to achieve black and white background and color center and I am very new at this. I followed your directions using wand, and the center did light up. Pressed select - Inverse, when I pressed Images I did not see adjustments or Desaturate. Can I achieve that look with Photoshop 6.

I have only used to crop so far and add a border.

Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. I will be done with photo book if I can achieve effect. I will keep looking and trying to figure it out.

Thanks
Gwenessa
