Hi Marti,

I have been using the supplied templates with MP for about a year. I've made 7 books and have been delighted with all of them. However, now I would like to use PP to design some pages. After reading for hours on the forums, it seems as if you are the PP Guru, as appointed by others! I am wondering if you would kindly review the information that I THINK I understand from your posts to be sure I am correct. I would hate to make a book, or even start, with an incorrect understanding. My question has to do with resolution.

I inserted a background page, picture, an element, and wrote some text. I saved the PP slide as a JPEG. I then went to the JPEG to check the resolution and it was only 1084 X 816 with a dpi of 96. That's not going to be very good in MP.

I came across some information that you had written, and this is what I did next.
I created a new slide in PP, changed the page layout size to be 33.9 X 25.5 (for a classic book), recreated the same page, saved it as a JPEG. I then opened it in PSElements and resized it to 11.3" X 8.5". I checked the resolution and it then reported to be 3072 X 2311 at 271 dpi. THIS image should be good enough for MP, yes?

Thank you for sharing your time and knowledge with us newbies to the PP program.

Hi Karen:

Thanks for your patience. I've been in Europe for a month and just got back. Am trying to get caught up now. Yes, I have somehow been appointed "scrapbook guru" here, but don't be fooled. I am far from an expert, but do enjoy helping when I can. Congrats on your seven MP books. It's so much fun, isn't it?

In answer to your question, yes. The enlarged dimensions and dpi should be sufficient to produce a good quality PP image on your MP book page. However, I am not an expert on these technicalities. Cruiser is the expert on that, in my opinion, and if you check some of her comments, you will find her far more knowledgeable.

Good luck, Karen. Sounds like you're on your way to being a great MP scrapbook maker.

Thank you, Marti. I'll check with Cruiser. I have read a lot of her posts, as well as yours.

Your trip sounds wonderful! And, I agree, you do have your work cut out for you. We went to China last year, and I found sorting through the hundreds of photos to decide which ones to use was one of my biggest challenges. I would love to send you the information on how to view my book, but I've lost the ID # and PW of the book. Do you know how I can get that information? I've written to MP but haven't had a response yet.

Thanks!
Karen

I'd love to see your book on your China trip, but unfortunately I don't know how to retrieve an ID# or PW either without MP customer service intervention. Hmmm . . . they're usually very responsive. Maybe someone else will read this and have a suggestion.

And I totally agree with you on the most challenging part of putting a travel book together. Selecting those perfect photos is the most time-consuming - although I find that I have to edit some of mine, too, and that's very time-consuming as well.

Let's see if someone replies to your ID# and PW issue.

I believe customer service should be able to help you out.

I set bookmarks for my books and other's that I want to see later and that way I don't have to save all the passwords and book id numbers. I have a favorites file for MyPublisher Books and I have at least two dozen links I can go to.

I would love to see your book too.

Hello Karen:

Can you please tell me how your resized the PP Slide. Also please let me know how you changed the DPI.....

I saved my slide as a JPG and it felt like the fonts were all blurred....

Thanks
