Could MP delete the spam posts in the wedding thread?

It's just junking up the forum.

I send emails daily to MyPublisher about these posts. I just forwarded your post on to them asking if anything could be done to prevent this or monitor it more closely. I told them that others are complaining now. Maybe if more of us told MP we were unhappy with these posts, something could be done. It takes awhile but eventually someone removes the messages.

I have alerted our technology team to see what can be done, but since it's a public forum, it's not that easy to have them automatically deleted.

Some other forums have a "report spam" or "report abuse" button. It wouldn't be automatic, but it could help report them to someone at MP who would then delete them without having to constantly monitor the forums.

Or a semi-automatic method -- some sites will automatically remove a post after a certain number of people report a post as spam or abuse.

Dear PattieA,

Thank you for your suggestion. Our technology team is in the process of creating an email address that we all can use to report SPAM. They should have this available within the next few days. I'll make sure that this information is communicated accordingly.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher

That would be great.

In addition to the garbled spam posts, I've seen several posts like: "if you want the best photobook, check out www.whatever.com, it's better than MP etc."

I saw this recently where the person had joined the forum, posted that same message in five threads, and was never seen again.

That person is obviously a competitor trying to steal business from MP. Those should be deleted too.

I think that's different from if a "regular" forum member said something like "hey, i saw so-and-so has nice book covers, how does that compare to MP".

I think everyone knows there are a lot of photobook places on the web, just use Google to see. We're here because we prefer MP for whatever reasons we have. Direct competitive posts do not add to the discussion and ultimately hurt MP as well.

Anyway, my 2 more cents.
