I installed MP a about a week ago but discovered that every time I tried to open any type of PDF it tried to launch MP. (along with the "I accept" part of the agreement). Because I routinely create and open PDF's this was a real problem so I uninstalled MP. However, every time I try to open a PDF it still tries to launch MP and when I cancel it hangs my machine. If I have a PDF on file I can direct it to open with Adobe Reader (and I have that set as the default) but for most other situations i don't have an easy override.

I would like to use the software to create an album but my more pressing problem is getting MP de-linked from the PDF default.

I currently have Adobe Acobat 7.0 standard and Adobe reader 6.0 installed.

Help!

Hello! Well I must say that I've never heard of this issue before. Maybe MyPublisher never fully installed, which is why it is trying to reinstall each time. However if you used Add/Remove programs, everything should be gone - we also have no links to PDF's so I'm not sure why that would be happening. You can also try to delete everything from the Application Data, which is stored (unhide any hidden folders along the way) in My Computer > Documents & Settings > Your User > Application Data > MyPublisher - you can delete that entire folder.

Let me know if this helps!
Sincerely,
MyPublisher

Thanks for the advice. I found that there were still Bookmaker files on my machine despite having run the uninstall. I removed these plus all start up links, etc. However, I still had a problem when try to open a PDF file from the internet.

I reinstalled MP hoping this would resovle things and the software seems to work fine but the problem persisted.

I changed the default software for pdf files to Adobe Reader from Adobe Acrobat Standard and that works okay for any pdfs that are on my desktop, but when I try to open one from the internet it comes up blank (but does not hang).

It appears that Abobe Acobat got corrupted during the install and now when I try to launch it it asks me if I want to install My Publisher.

I suspect I will need to reinstall Adobe but unfortunately the disk in in storage so won't be able to get access to it for a few days. I will mark this closed as I can use a work around and still create PDFs from Word.

If the reinstall doesn't work I will reopen my question.

Thanks again
