Caption Boxes

I like some of the page layouts that have caption boxes but do not want to use a caption.
Not all caption layout pages have an equivalent non-caption layout page.
I would like to use a caption page layout without any caption but I'm concerned that the caption box border will show on the page. Can someone tell me if the actual caption box border is printed along with the pictures or is it just the text that is printed. Has anyone used caption page layout without a caption... if so how does it look?

people do that all the time - just look in PREVIEW - what you see there is what will print. caption boxes do not print :)
