Wow! What a beautiful book MyPublisher printed for me. I was very pleased!
I am now working on my second book. I want this one to be very nice, so I am paying close attention to my photo dpi, size and resolution. (My first book had a couple photos that looked fine in the program, but printed a bit fuzzy.) I want everything to be optimal in the current book. My scanner does poorly at 300 dpi, but good at other settings, so am scanning at a higher resolution and changing it down to 300dpi. I think they said that the best printing on a full page, in a Classic book, was 1600 x 1200 pixels. So I downsized my photo in Photoshop to 1200 high with 300 dpi. (It is vertical, so the width is different.) Then I look and the size is 559 kb per windows, 2.66 MB per Photoshop. (I do not understand this difference.) The instructions say I typically need photos of greater than 800kb. Also, Photoshop says that my 1200 heigh (full height) at 300 dpi is 4 inches, while the book is 8+ inches. Is this photo large enough to print perfectly? Is it because it is vertical, that it is smaller? Should I go by the 1200 pixels, rather than the 8+ inches? Can someone explain to me the difference between Photoshop's sizing and Windows? How can I have the best possible printed photos? Should I be using Unsharp Mask? Thanks in Advance for your help.
