Hi, I know I've seen threads about this subject before, but I've not seen an exact answer. Hope my first post will be OK.

I'm producing an album using other software that creates one image and I'm going for the middle size album. Do I do the same as I would with full bleed commercial leaflet printing ie size of finished page 11.3x8.5 plus 1/8 all round for trimming apart from the binding edge where you add 1/4.

When I drag into bookmaker, has that already cropped the image or will that view be trimmed? When I tried it before the image looked cropped but when I double clicked to get into edit mode all the image appeared.
Hope I've made myself clear.

Hi,

I'll try again, do I create an image that is the size of the album page eg 11.3x8.5 plus 1/8 inch and 1/4 inch on binding edge?

Thanks, have designed album just waiting to size correctly.

Cheers

Hello - the actual page sizes are 8.58 by 11.08, which includes 1mm cropping on all sides, to when cropped it is 8.5x11 - we display the cropped images in the software. Nevertheless, on full bleed molds, yes about 1/4 of an inch is gobbled up in the binging, and there is a small margin of error so I'd steer clear of putting anything too, too imporant close to the edges.

So the page is actually 11.08 x8.58. So say if I make pages as I would for an album where photographs are stuck onto pages in say dg foto art, or page gallery, all i need to do is bring these images into photoshop canvas size 11.08x8.58 say 350 dpi and then make sure nothing important is in the 1/8 inch from edge and 1/2 inch from binding. This would be done by adding extra background and cloning other areas. So 11.08 x 8.58 is the size before cutting etc. done.

When I drag this into the page of the mypublisher software should it fit perfectly first time without zooming? I had used 11.33x8.5 and found I had to zoom out and even then could move the image across. Is there any need to do this using the 11.08x8.58 size?

Does this make sense?

Once I get the answer I can finish the album I've spent hours working on.

Many thanks
