What Am I Doing Wrong?

OK, I get that Mac users only have 4 book styles in V2.1, but when I pick one of those styles, how come I only have a bunch of variations on the same 3 page layouts? I can't find any layouts like the ones in the samples for each style when I click to change the page layout.

For instance, the most pictures I can put on one page seems to be three in various combos of horizontal and vertical, but all smack in the middle of the page. The sample layouts show pages with four or six small photos on them.

Am I missing something? I just want to put more than 3 photos on a page.... (aesthetics be danged!)

OK, when I checked for an answer to my question, it said there are two similar questions and one answer out there, but I just read and searched through all posts in this forum and can't find anything...

So.... while nobody from MyPublisher was answering my question, I did a little research and discovered that even with my 2-for-1 MyPublisher coupon, it will still be cheaper to create my books at Blurb.com - which gives Mac users the same software as PC users and provides numerous templates and myriad page layouts.
