Hi,

I am brand new to MP and would like to create custom layouts for a wedding album. I have created a book using the layouts provided however I like a lot of the custom features I have seen in the beautiful sample albums created by many of the users such as photo borders, rotated photos, and the transparent backgrounds.

The photos I am using are professional digital ones (about 1 MB each) so I believe they are of enough quality, but I have been looking through the forums and there are so many requirements such as width, height, dimensions, dpi, etc.

If I am using powerpoint, saving as a jpeg, but not really doing anything but resizing images using the cursor, will my book turn out as I see it on the screen?

Please help. Thanks

When creating your own layout, if it's not a good enough res. MP program will let you know. I've never created anything in power point, I use photoshop and I know it's worked just fine for me.

Here are the minimum image specs for a full page image:

PocketBook: 7.5?x5.75? @ 200ppi = 1500 x 1150 pixels
Classic Hardcover: 10.75?x8.5? @ 200ppi = 2150 x 1700 pixels
Deluxe Hardcover: 14.25? x 11.125? @ 200ppi = 2850 x 2225 pixels

As long your images are at least this big (pixel dimensions) they will print properly. If you're using images with these dimensions in layouts that have multiple images, BookMaker will downsize them so they don't have more pixels then needed for printing. It's easy to remove unneeded pixels from larger images, but it's almost impossible to add pixels to images that are too small. ;-)

dramaqueen2788 makes an important point too -- any image that doesn't have enough pixels will be outlined in red in BookMaker.
