Edge of pictures cropped?

Hi!
I read in the past threads that I shouldn't put anything important on the edge of pages to allow clearance for cropping and bleeding.

I'm using the BookMaker templates. Does this cropping rule also apply to the to the pictures that I place in the picture boxes or just the full page itself? Say I put 2 pictures on the page using one of the templates. Will each picture be cropped around its edge too?

Our templates do account for the bleed - that being said of course there is a margin of error. Therefore the rule still applies, don't put anything too important close to the edge. (meaning on the outermost 2mm) It's tiny.
