I'm trying to resize my images and I think I figured out how to resize the horizontal images but not the vertical. If I have an image that reads: 1536 x 2048 pixels, 21.333 x 28.444 inches, and 72 ppi that is vertical I can't get it to the recommended 8.475 inches wide, 11.3 inches high, 2066 pixels wide, and 2034 high, set at 180 dpi. I can rotate it horizontal and then resize it to match the recommended size for a horizontal image and then rotate it back vertical but I'm not sure it looks right. How do I get it to the correct size for vertical sizing? Am I doing something wrong? On an earlier post MP said to change the 72 ppi and I'm trying!! Please HELP, anyone.
Thanks,

I am using Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo X2. Also, do you use opacity to "wash out" a photo.

I use Photoshop. Yes, if you want to lighten a photo, make a duplicate layer and use a screen blending mode on the top layer, if you have that in your software. Then slide the opacity slider, until you have the effect you wish. Similarly, if you wish to darken faded images, to bring out the detail, you use the multiply blending mode on the top layer and adjust the opacity. You may do this multiple times, if the effect is not enough. This is the quickest and easiest way to lighten or darken a photo and get it right.
