Book Jacket - is it like a hardcover book jacket?

Is the book jacket similar to that you would see on a hardcover book? In other words, can you remove it or is it part of the book? If it's removable, what is underneath the jacket?

Yes, it's removeable like regular books, under it is a solid, plain black book.
