Hi there,
I replied to the discussion on Europe and tax but thought I better post my own message in case it is missed.
I just ordered what is probably our 10th book from my publisher and have received an invoice for VAT for the first time. I was wondering if previously the books were sent from within the UK. And if so, why were they sent from the US this time. It appears it does matter where you order the books as I contacted customs and they said that anything ordered internationally to the value of £18 or more is subject to tax.
I emailed 4 days ago to see if we can choose where the books come from but am yet to receive a reply. I have been very happy with mypublisher to date and am about to order another 6 books but won't if it means paying tax again.
Many thanks,
Jackie
