PS Elements Designer

I just got my first album today. I thought of sharing my experience.
I read and re read printer profile in mypublisher.com help page.
This is how I did my photo editing, All in sequence
1) Crop the image as per specifications.
Full bleed: I used 8.575 by 11.25 (0.25 extra for cutting/gutter)
Mid size: I used 5 by 7
Small size: I used 3 by 4
If you notice. all sizes are almost same ratio.
Some times I created 2 are more sizes of same picture, to adopt my changes in layout
Tip: While doing crop it's good idea to follow one third rule. If you do not know about this, do not worry. Just crop as you like, Make sure photo subjects does not exist at the edges of photo.
2) I saved all images in PSD format (PS elements)
3) I did edit photo.
All photos are set 180 ppi or 200 ppi. (Check image--> resize menu)
if your orginal image is 75 ppi, chaning it to higher does not give any good quality.
You orginal image should be at least 180 ppi.
Simple steps in sequence are:
3.a) Red eye correction
3.b) Auto Color correction
3.c) Auto Contrast correction
3.d) Auto level
You can keep all photos in bin and then use batch job File->Process multiple file.
This is fast way, if you have time edit each photo separately.
If required repeat above steps.
4) Now it's more import step.
Printers take brightest and darkest sample in the photos are reference. All other color may have impact based on this.
5) Open level.
Adjust brightness or darkness by pulling left or right pointers
Make sure you do not have too much darkness.
Pull middle pointer (Gray scale/Gamma) bit left to create bit more gray than full dark.
6) Do not use auto sharping. Use unshap mask. If needed on selected objects.
7) Change the image->Convert Color Profile-> Adobe98
For black and white photos, you can use
Enhance--> Convert to black and white.
Or once you keep in mypublisher layout, right click the image convert to black and white.
8) File->Save (PSD)
File--> Save as (Jpeg with high quality 12)
8) Now you are ready to upload you jpeg to any layout.
Mode of all photos should be in RGB, Including black and white. Never use gray scale photos for mypublisher printing. They may not print well with their printer color profiles
I am happy with my photos, I still expected bit more better quality. May be I should take care in editing them or go for more costly printers. Hope one day Mypublisher offer premium quality photos for photographers and designers.
If anybody want to add their experience of getting more better quality prints. Please add them in this thread.
