Is there any way to print a finished layout to a local printer for proofing? The software of other online photo book companies let you print or export to a PDF for proofing, but I can't find a way to do that in BookMaker.

Hi EyeInHand - Today in BookMaker there is no way to do that. The Preview step is meant to be a proofing step. What you see is what you will get. I hope this is helpful! That is a great suggestion though.

Ok thanks. Really need to be able to print, though. I've put a more detailed explanation
(OK, maybe it qualifies as a rant ;-}) in the Suggestion Box.

Thanks,

A strong vote, on my part, for the ability to print a proof at home. There's no substitute for seeing it on paper. Its a better simulation of the final product; also, most people are much better at catching mistakes on paper than on the screen!

I'm presently evaluating several self-publish services. The lack of the feature is the biggest negative for mypublisher!

Hey Guys - I often see our pocketbooks used as proof sheets or proof books. They cost only $12.95 and are a great way to get a preview for how the final product will look. Then when you are ready for the real deal, change your book size and style to Classic or Deluxe, check/redo the cover (the rest is the same) and you have your final product!

Is it possible for you to provide some guidelines that we can take to a printer for proofs?

For instance, paper stock, a rough selection of printers, ie, something?!

I have a wide variety of photo types (this is my portfolio), people, landscapes, etc, and I cannot afford to have a completely unusable book because of one bad page.

Thanks!

Our presses most closely follow an Adobe 98 color profile. Our paper is semi-gloss and is different thickness/lb based on the book you choose.

However, if you are going to have to pay a printer for a proof sheet, I strongly urge you to spend the $12.95 to enable us to print a pocketbook for you. Then you will know for sure.

Sincerely,

I've also grumbled about not being able to print a proof. Running out a 12.95 book is the way to go. Never thought about that. For me to print out a PDF or some other form would cost significantly more than 12.95. Thanks!
