I just sent an email to customer service, but I wanted to see if other customers have had similar issues with the PocketBook.

Upon receiving my MyPublisher PocketBook, I was disappointed to see that the cover was already scratched and colors where coming through the black cover without any use. However, I was happy with the picture quality and was excited to show off the book to our out-of-state relatives who could not make it to our wedding in July. The first few relatives to look at our wedding book were very impressed with the book. Everyone was raving about the picture and design and I was highly tauting MyPublisher as a book-making website over Shutterfly, Snapfish, and Blurb. However, after the 10th adult had looked at the book (which, in my opinion, seems like very light use), the pages started to come loose! We have had the book for less than 3 weeks, shown it to about 40 people, and pages are coming out everywhere!!! Clearly there is some sort of problem with the binding of the book. Is this a common problem with the small books? If so, maybe you should consider a lower page limit on those books (mine was 86 pages, still 14 under the 100 page limit). Either way, I am disappointed that my book is less than a month old and is already falling apart. I have hopes to order a large deluxe album with the same pictures, but my experience with this first book is obviously not a positive one.

Anyone out there have a similar experience or was my faulty book just a rare occurrence?

Hi ahanson,

I haven't seen one of MyPublisher's small books, but I have ordered two of their biggest books. I have been VERY impressed with both books. I especially like that the pages are very thick. I haven't had any problem with the binding. Hopefully the customer service folks will give you a coupon code so you can order your book again for free.

I haven't seen books from Shutterfly, Snapfish, or Blurb. Has anybody else? I'm wondering how the finished product compares.

ahanson - you mentioned that you were tauting MyPublisher over the others. Was that based on the softare/website or on finished products you've seen? Either way, what impressed you about MyPublisher over the others?

I have made several PocketBooks and they turned out great. I did have a deluxe book that the binding was not good and the pages were falling out. I notified customer service and MP replaced the book. The replacement is perfect.

Hi Ahanson -

It sounds like a defect with the binding of the book. I can tell you from my end I do not hear this problem frequently. Customer service will issue you a coupon for a new book. I recommend changing your cover though, because black in general scratches easily. You are better off with a full bleed image on the cover from my experience.

Sincerely,
MyPublisher
