Photo failed to load

Just got an HP Scanjet G4010 for Christmas and files scanned on it can't be read by BookMaker. I'm scanning with the 6-color feature turned off and I checked the file - the color space is sRGB. I get the following error: Failed to load picture from file...reason: Failed to read JPEG file... internalerror=0[0x00000000] exception=0xC0000005. Any ideas?

Hi Haygoods - I am not so familiar with error messages like that, but I'd guess that maybe the image is not saving as a JPG. Is that possible?

The photo is a jpeg. If I can't find the problem I guess I'll just have to use another photo book publisher. I tried one other and my photo loads just fine with it.
