integrating maps

some of you have added your own maps to your books. I think this is a great idea. But how do you do it? That is to say, where do you get the maps from? And what software do you use to customize them.

I think I found an answer to my own question. I came across a package called World Navigator by Cartografx that includes the ability to customize maps as well as save them as .jpgs From what I gather it is a very powerful program. The basic version is only $30, but the pro version is $150. www.cartografx.com
