I HOPE THAT MY POSTS HERE WILL HELP SOME OF YOU MEET THE XMAS EVE DEADLINE FOR YOUR BOOKS. LOOK DOWN TO MY POST LABELED "RESOLVED" FOR HOW I GOT AROUND THE UPLOAD PROBLEM!
**************************************************

Dear Mypublisher,

I have a large book to upload, my .dime file is over 600megs.
I am having issues uploading. I set it this morning and when I got home from work it was not finished. Then mistakingly with an idiotic click I accidentally closed BookMaker.

I "purchased" again to start the upload again, I couldn't figure any other way to do it. And it is hanging up again now I think after about 6 or 7 hours. The progress bar in the bottom of IE is still for half way across for the last 2 hours, and my network activity is not very active.

Needless to say this is obviously a Christmas present, the main one for my girfriend, and I'm getting really nervous.

Can I ftp my .dime file to you guys or can I put it up on my website for you to download as this is just not working for me...?

Please contact me as soon as possible, my phone is 619.606.1536 if you need that.

I am wondering now also, every time I try to start this over, is it charging my credit card?

Hi Dustin -
The size shouldn't be an issue for your upload. It's best not to let it sit and upload while you aren't there. It shouldn't take more than 1/2 hr or so to upload even at that size. The problem is that if it stalls out at the same point each time, there could be a problem with a specific image or page of your book file. Does it hang during "optimizing photos" or "uploading photos"

We'll figure this out!
Sincerely,
MyPublisher

is there a way to start the upload again and all that without "purchase" again?

It doesn't hang at the same point every time.

the first time it was a lot further than it went the second time.

at 115kbs upload it will take an hour or two to upload 750 megs. it shouldn't matter whether im "there" or not...

There is not. We don't charge for each upload. An authorization takes place but those drop. Nothing is charged until it ships from our facility.

The reason I mentioned watching it is to see if it stalls out at the same place each time.

115 kbs sounds like a very slow connection. Are you on dial-up? Just curious where did you find that number from. Unfortunately it may be the connection that is the issue.

Can you try a bandwidth speed test? I use http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/

okay if anyone is experiencing the same problems that I experienced above this is what to do.

go to mozilla.org and download firefox if you are not already using it.
make sure to disable the pop up blocker.

Instead of not being able to read IE screen it will be nice and clear, if it does hang up you will at least know where the problem is.

I have been trying to upload for 3 days, I did this and it worked the first time less than an hour.

I am thankful for your timely responses in this forum "mypublisher", but seriously haven't seen anything in these forums from you that is not in the FAQ "my publisher help guide".

and 115kbs upload is not slow for the record.
and just to make you happy I went to speakeasy.net for you

my d/l was 9847kbs
my u/l was 961kbps

that is actually unbelievable!

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY make sure disable pop up blocker under options in mozilla firefox and temporarily turn off security center and the windows firewall etc. I never use IE and now I remember why once again.
